Job Title: Project Co-ordinator – EDI, Disability and Health
Reports to: Interim Dir of Business Improvement
Based at: RDA National Office (Lowlands Equestrian Centre, Warwickshire)
Hours: Full time
Contract Type: Permanent
Role Purpose:
The Equalities, Diversity, and Inclusion (E,D&I) Coordinator, with a specific focus on disabilities, holds a
critical role in championing a workplace culture that embraces diversity and ensures equal opportunities
for all. This role involves collaborating across various levels of the organisation to lead initiatives that foster
an inclusive environment, with an emphasis on addressing disability-related matters and creating
accessible pathways for employees.
Specific Responsibilities:
Strategy Development and Review:
Collaborate with senior leadership to create and implement a comprehensive E,D&I strategy that aligns
with the organisation's values and goals.
Policy and Procedure Enhancement:
Review and update existing policies and procedures to ensure they are inclusive and equitable, addressing
any potential biases.
Education and Training:
Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on E,D&I topics, fostering awareness and
sensitivity.
Awareness Campaigns:
Plan and execute campaigns and initiatives to raise awareness about diversity and inclusion, celebrating
differences and promoting understanding.
Data Collection and Analysis:
Collect and analyze relevant data to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and measure the
impact of E,D&I efforts.
Partnerships and Collaboration:
Collaborate with internal departments and external organisations to share best practices, leverage
resources, and participate in community events.
Employee Support:
Serve as a point of contact for employees to address concerns related to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Reporting and Communication:
Prepare regular reports for leadership, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations for
further improvement.
Representation:
Represent the organisation at relevant external events, conferences, and forums focused on E,D&I. Link in
with National Lead for E,D&I periodically to ensure cross collaboration and support to the network.
Continuous Learning:
Stay up-to-date with current trends and developments in E,D&I, adapting strategies accordingly.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience in E,D&I initiatives and program management
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to build relationships and collaborate across diverse groups
Analytical skills to interpret data and assess progress
Cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the importance of inclusion
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Empathy with the aims and values of RDA
Experience of working with volunteers
Computer literate
Knowledge of the disability sector, key stakeholders
Experience of working on inclusion focused projects
Desirable Criteria:
Experience of project management tools and techniques
Experience of securing and working with external stakeholder subject matter experts and organisations e.g.
setting up/working with an Advisory Panel.
Experience of working with organisations who advocate for, or are specialists in, long term health conditions,
disability or equine therapies
Experience of running small grant schemes
Experience of managing and supporting events
Experience of representing an organisation to external bodies
Some knowledge of equestrian world
Knowledge of RDA structure
Use of databases
